Their first whole day here was very exciting because we decided that, being so close, we should just zip over to Yosemite. What a place!
The geography is stunning, and all we saw was that which could be seen from the road that runs through the park. Simply amazing.
First, we stopped to see the sequoias. They are huge!
Mom and dad were dwarfed by just the goosepen in this tree.
These trees are so huge it can be difficult to get pictures of them, but we sure tried!
As we progressed on from the sequoias, the geography became more and more impressive.
Waterfalls are abundant and were in good form with all the recent snow melt.
Interspersed throughout the woods were beautiful meadows. This one provided a great view of Half Dome (I think).On our way out we were lucky enough to finally get to see, can you guess?
Bears! The one in this picture was more brown than black,
but we saw a black bear too!

The pics of Yosemite are great! One of my earliest family vacations was there, and so the scenery brought back some good memories. Somewhere I have a shot of me and my sisters under the arch of a tunnel cut through a huge sequoia. When the container arrives from Hawaii I will see if I can locate it.

Great pictures of a very familiar sight.....Half Dome and the falls and the best pic of all is the one going into the valley. Awesome. And bears.....glad you made the trip.
